  • The first contact for any healthcare assistance, Primary Care in the UK is positioned to alleviate the burden on NHS A&E departments, and has been subject to a number of developments in recent years. Advancements in digital consultations enabling virtual – especially video – meetings, as well as the pandemic putting a spotlight on both the need, and opportunity, for digital partners to modernise the way Primary Care is delivered, is both attracting high levels of investor interest, and wider public attention.  

    Traditionally, Primary Care services includes GPs, pharmacies, walk-in services, out-of-hour, and 111 call-handlers providing immediate access to medical advice and treatments. In the event of a diagnosis requiring support unable to be administered in these locations, a referral to a Secondary Care service is made.  

  • After a referral from a Primary Care provider, there has been an increasing level of interest surrounding private Secondary Care providers – ranging from hospitals, rehabilitation service providers, specialist clinics, and diagnostic businesses.  

    Private pay consumer demand has accelerated the growth of investor backed Secondary Care, supporting access to faster medical treatment, with a wider variety of specialised care options available to the public than ever before.     

  • Consumer Healthcare has seen an explosion of investor appetite with notable transactions generating interest from mid and large cap investor profiles, particularly within the dentistry, veterinary, and ophthalmic markets. Much of the investment community interest has been driven by high levels of consumer appetite for access to premium, self-pay elective procedures, with demand at an all-time high.

    Nurseries, cosmetics, dermatology, preventative health, fertility, and physiotherapy are all additional sub-sectors of the private healthcare markets Compass Carter Osborne has been responsible for delivering outstanding leadership into.
