Compass Carter Osborne are proud to share that Investors in People (IIP) have awarded CRS the ‘Gold’ following our first ever participation in the accreditation Standard.
Compass Carter Osborne is one of the four partner brands within the wider business of the CRS partner group.
About Investors in People
Following an intensive examination process which involved company-wide surveys, individual Consultant Q&As, and internal audits, the world-recognised Investors in People Standard – designed to reflect the very best in people management practices – has award CRS ‘Gold’ in the first year of participation.
The assessment criteria is organised around nine key indicators of high performance, each with three themes. The findings indicated that there are clear areas of strength in “Empowering and Involving people,” “Structuring work” and “Managing performance”.
The results
The survey undertaken by IIP selected participants resulted in a benchmark score 58 points above the overall average IIP level – which is a reflection of every participating company irrespective of industry – whilst in comparison to businesses who engage in “employment services” the results scored 22 points higher than the industry average.
Feedback also indicated that the majority of the themes in the Standard are at “Advanced level” where people and leaders actively drive positive outcomes, taking ownership of the principles and practices. Three themes are “High performing” where the principles and practices are fully integrated with other business practices. People and leaders take accountability for delivering consistently positive results, always with an eye on improvement and the future – with high levels of engagement, trust and transparency prevalent in the business.
Industry benchmarking
The accreditation is fantastic recognition for CRS: less than 17% of all businesses who undertake the assessment achieve Gold status and is testimony to the hard work of the leadership team who put employees, culture and internal prospects at the forefront of all internal engagement activities.
CRS are in the Top-20 of all recruitment businesses with between 50-249 employees based on survey score; and in the Top-250 companies across all industries with the same headcount who have participated in the IIP accreditation.
The results also highlighted how “there are high levels of trust within teams, there is also a strong feeling of camaraderie, knowledge sharing and support. This was reflected in the survey results, the conversations with individuals, the high retention rates (for an industry that is renowned for having high employee turnover rates) and the length of tenure for many employees”.
Commenting on the accolade, CRS People Director, Liza Gamblin has said:
“We’re thrilled to have been awarded with Gold on our first accreditation, this is a true testament to everyone working within CRS as it’s their encouragement, support, teamwork and professionalism that creates a workplace where people feel empowered to reach their full potential and enjoy coming to work. As a values driven, founder-led business it’s really important to understand what we are doing well and where we can make improvements.
We will be using the feedback to help us grow and improve to make CRS an even better place to work with the aim of achieving Platinum on our next review.”
CRS are thrilled to have been recognised by IIP in this way, and will continue to take on board advice and suggestions to continue to make Compass an outstanding place to work.
