Compass Carter Osborne were appointed to source a Non-Executive Director for Spaghetti Bridge by Dowing Capital, the equity sponsor for the business. Compass Carter Osborne was able to demonstrate its in-depth knowledge and network across the social care and education sub-sectors during a competitive pitch process.  

Reason & Purpose:   

The business had been on an exciting growth journey under Downing’s ownership and for the business to continue scaling further, a NED with a background in social care and scaled businesses was required to ensure that the SMT had the right support in place to facilitate this growth.   

The ideal NED candidate would have a strong financial skillset, given that the business was seeking to raise additional funds to support its ambitious growth plans.

During a competitive pitch process, CCO was able to consistently demonstrate its in-depth sector knowledge and network and its successful track record of delivery with NED and CFO appointments across the investor space. This gave Downing Capital and Spaghetti Bridge a great deal of confidence that CCO were the right partner for the search.  

Search process / methodology: 

Compass Carter Osborne completed a thorough market mapping exercise of the PE backed social care and education sectors in the UK, specifically seeking CFO’s and Finance Directors who could demonstrate a successful track record of working / delivering in PE environments.  

In addition to this, we utilised our established network of senior finance executives. 

Outcome: 

Shaun Parker was delighted to accept the offer to join Spaghetti Bridge as a NED. Shaun has an impressive track record as a CFO in the social care sector, having been the CFO of Voyage Care from 2018; this includes supporting the business through a successful PE to PE transaction.
