About Ultromics
Ultromics is a medical technology company specialising in precision diagnostics for heart failure. Its AI-powered platform, EchoGo®, combines artificial intelligence with cardiac ultrasound to support clinicians in making more precise and efficient assessments.
Built using one of the largest known heart disease datasets in echocardiography, Ultromics’ technology focuses on challenging cardiac conditions, including heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), with the aim of supporting earlier diagnosis and intervention.
Reason and Purpose
Ross Upton founded Ultromics while working in the cardiac echo group at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The company has developed from initial concept to achieve European CE marking and multiple US FDA clearances, and has established pivotal clinical partnerships with world-renowned medical institutions. Financing from Oxford Science Innovation (OSI) and world-class investors has supported rapid growth on a pan-geographic basis.
Ultromics is changing how physicians detect and diagnose heart failure, using novel AI-based applications and partnering with leading clinical and corporate groups to demonstrate the power of the technology. Building the right leadership team was central to that ambition.

He was also able to make introductions to key media players in the early-stage medical device world, which generated valuable early coverage and helped build a following for the technology within the med-tech innovation community.

- Chief Operating Officer
- Chief Financial Officer
