About Quanta Dialysis Technologies

Quanta Dialysis Technologies is a medical technology company focused on making high-quality, cost-effective dialysis more accessible across a range of care settings.

The Quanta Dialysis System is the first and only FDA-cleared device capable of performing intermittent haemodialysis (IHD), sustained low-efficiency dialysis (SLED) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), including CVVHD and SCUF, without the need for dialysate bags. Quanta has also received FDA clearance for home haemodialysis with a tandem care partner.

Reason and Purpose

Chris Coe, Director at Compass Carter Osborne’s Life Sciences practice, first established his relationship with Quanta with the initial investment by Wellington, NBGI and others, which started the development of a best-in-class home dialysis solution in 2008. The relationship grew to include key placements at board and executive level, as well as support through other services. Working with founding CEO John Milad gave him a strong opportunity to partner more effectively with the executive team and board.

The company has moved from prototype to full regulatory approval and now to commercial launch in Europe and the US under its new commercial leadership team.

Search Process and Methodology

Key placements included:

COO, Selly Saini. Selly brought world-class general management and operational expertise gained at J&J and in his own diagnostic start-up.

Devices Director, Henrik Hall. Henrik brought extensive knowledge of the dialysis space and an excellent innovation track record developed over a number of years at Gambro.

Business outcomes: Quanta achieved key regulatory milestones and built world-class manufacturing processes and facilities to bring the SC+ to market, supported by the placements above.

Working in conjunction with the CEO and CFO, these placements also supported one of the largest funding rounds for a medtech company in Europe: $245 million.
